ATTACK SPILLS QUICKLY
Start treating your carpet as soon as you notice a spill. Spills can quickly turn into stains. Grab some towels or paper towels and blot at the spot to absorb as much mess as you can. Change the towels as needed to avoid spreading the mess. Next, apply a gentle cleansing agent to the spot to help bring the rest of the spill out of the carpet. Club soda works great for this, as does a mixture of oxygen cleaning powder and water. Simply saturate the affected area with the liquid cleaner and blot at it with a paper towel to remove the stain. Do not scrub the spot, because this can work the spill even deeper into your carpet.
